Most Snow Ever

Have you looked at our live weather cameras this moring?

We received about 6 inches of new snow last night.

That brings our total snow on the ground to about 3'2". That is a lot of snow.

Our family bought the Bear River Lodge in November 1997. This is our 14 winter. I don't remember a single day when we had 3 feet of snow on the ground.

Sure we have had some big snowstorms in that time and we surpassed 2 feet on several occasions. However, this 3 feet of snow has been here for more than a week and every time it starts to settle a new storm arrives and pushes the total back over the 3 foot mark.

My simple thinking says the snow is going to be around for a while. My guess is that even if it warmed up today and didn't snow again all season we would still have snow until the first of April. However, with more storms coming and normal temperatures we will probably be snowmobiling until the end of April.

'The nice thing really about this national forest is we border the motorized recreation portion. Which is open to atv's and snowmobiles, for motorized recreation fans it's a big plus,' said Roger Eggett, Bear River Lodge.

"The mirror lake highway is groomed for 35 miles, scenic, that is where we send families on the two seat snowmobiles. But then we have tens of thousands of acres out here for off trail riding and as you can see you can go from scenic to extreme in a few minutes."

Christmas Tree Permits

The Cabins at Bear River Lodge will begin its 14th year of selling permits to cut Christmas Trees in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Bring family and friends and join us in making this an annual tradition!

DETAILS:
$10 per permit with a limit of one permit per residence. Each permit allows the holder to cut one tree up to 12 feet tall.

The cutting area is in the Evanston Ranger District south of The Cabins at Bear River Lodge. Maps are provided outlining the cutting area.

Permits will be available daily from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, excluding Thanksgiving day.

REMEMBER:
Bring a saw to cut down your tree.

Dress warmly. Check out our live weather cameras for current conditions.

Most tree cutting areas can be accessed by car. However, four-wheel drive is a plus.

Snowmobiles and ATVs are another great way to access the cutting areas. Check out our specials page for current deals!

Christmas Tree Permits

It's that time of year again! The holiday season is upon us. Christmas tree permits will go on sale this Friday, November 13th. This is a great family tradition. Families must purchase the permits in person, as a valid ID is needed. Permits are $10 each with a $2 service charge. Exact change is appreciated. Owners' Work Party a HUGE SUCCESS!

We had a great day on Saturday at our First Annual Owners' Work Party. We had about fifty individuals helping us clear the hill. We worked hard to remove the trees killed by pine beetle.

We cut down many trees and hauled them down the hill to be burnt. We also worked on our drainage system to prevent errosion on the hill side.

After the work we enjoyed a pot luck BBQ and many enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tubs.

We also had a chance to talk about concerns from the various owners and exchanged ideas for development. Everyone agreed that we want to do this every year on the last Saturday in August. So set you calendars now to join us next year.

We have been so happy to host so many Summer Vacations and some fun Family Reunions this year! The swimming pool has been so much fun! ATV riding in the beautiful forest has never been better! We hope you have all had a wonderful time and will come back to see us again!

Busy Weekend

Who would know that the weekend after July 4th would be much busier that the 4th? It has been a great weekend and we have seen lots of campers, ATV riders, fishermen, Harley Riders, mountain bikers, and ice cream cone eaters!

If you haven't made it up this summer come on up! We just turned up the heat in the pool to 86 degrees and as you can see from the photos it is getting plenty of use.

Mirror Lake Highway 150 Now Open

The Mirror Lake Highway from the Kamas side is now open. Come take advantage of all the summer activities at The Cabins. Memorial Day Weekend

The Holiday weekend is wrapping up and it was very nice. We got a little rain yesterday but Friday, Saturday, and today have been great.

The pool is now open and heated!!! The ice cream machine is on!!!

Cabin 8 is progressing nicely. It should be open by the middle of June.

This week we are continuing to work on landscaping, caulking and staining the exterior of Cabin 8, finish painting and staining the interior of Cabin 8, tile cabin 8, kitchen flooring Cabin 8, and cabinets installed on Cabin 8.

The temperature is great!

Maybe Spring is Here?? Cabin 8 and Property Beautification Continues!

I am afraid of speaking too early again, but maybe Spring is really here this time. The snow is essentially gone from around the lodge. The gates to both the North Slope Road and the Highway are open. The snow is melted off the Highway to just past Whitney turnoff. It will probably be at least another month before the Highway is open from Kamas.

The ATVs are here and some of the trails are accessible. Half day rides are great right now.

We are working very hard to improve the grounds and to complete all construction by the middle of June.

The swimming pool should be open by the end of the month.

Cabin 8 is progressing rapidly. We are starting the interior work and sheetrock is going on the walls on Tuesday. This cabin will be ready for use by the end of June.

Snowy Weekend

Well old man winter is still hanging around. We just woke up to another 18" of new snow. The snow is amazing and the snowmobiling is the best it's been all year. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday forecast is for sunshine and warmer days. It should make for some incredible snowmobiling! Come take advantage of our Rent One, Get One Free on Snowmobiles or Cabins. Winter Is Still Here - Cabin 8 Progressing!

Winter came back with full force. We have had about four feet of snow over the past two weeks.

We are pushing ahead with Cabin 8 as quickly as we can. We have had to take every other day off because of snow fall and then spend hours shoveling the next morning.

We still hope to have the roof on by the end of next week so we can stop shoveling the snow.

We should have great snowmobiling for at least the next couple weeks so come on up and take advantage of our rent one get one free on cabins, snowmobiles, and ATVs.

We have at least one foot of new snow and it has been coming down hard all day.

This could be the best weekend for snowmobiling all year. To top it off we are giving a free snowmobile rental with each paid rental.

Snow is Melting and Spring is On Its Way

What a beautiful day! Days like today remind me why I like Spring. Spring is a wonderful time to be in the mountains. The days are pleasant and the skies are incredible at night. Without the lights from the city it looks like there are thousands and thousands of more stars in the sky.

Come on up and sit in the hot tub at night and you will not want to leave.

Cabin 7 is nearing completion and will be ready for renters by May. So if you haven't made your reservations for Mothers' Day or Memorial Day do it now. All cabins are rent one night and get the second night free until June 11.

ATVs are the same - rent one get one free. Or if you want to take one last snowmobile ride you can probably do that for another week or two and get one free as well.

We have made excellent progress this week on Cabin 8 and expect to set the ridge beam next week and have the roof one within three weeks from today. So check back often and watch the progress.

Here we go again!

Here we go again! In less than four months since we started Cabin #7 we are starting Cabin #8.

The logs and lumber were delivered this morning for Cabin #8. This cabin will be completed in June and ready for our peak summer season. This will significantly enhance our capacity and allow us to accommodate large families and groups. We will now have sleeping capacity for more than 150 people at a time.

Check back often because we are going to really move on this cabin. You will see walls going up within one week.

Better yet, come on up and check it out. From now until June 11, 2009 all cabins are rent one night get one night free. No blackout dates. That's right, Easter, Mother's Day, and even Memorial Day weekend are included. Also, rent an ATV or snowmobile (probably for another few weeks) and get the second one free.

Holiday Weekend

What a great holiday weekend! With Valentine's Day today and President's Day on Monday, we've got a lot of people here! The snow has been falling on and off throughout the day, with accumulation of about 4-5" since yesterday. We have had a lot of snow this season! First Annual Cabin Owners Snowmobile Ride

We had the first annual Cabin Owners snowmobile ride today. The weather was great and it seemed like we had the mountains to ourselves. We had at least six inches of new snow at Whitney Resevoir and in many places it appeared that there was at least one foot of new snow.

Come on out and enjoy our current special. Rent a snowmobile on weekdays at regular rate and get as many additional snowmobiles at half off. This is good for new reservations only. Cabin 7 Progresses and Snow is on the way

The photos speak for themselves. We have made great progress on Cabin 7. We got the logs delivered six weeks ago and had to take two weeks off for the holidays. So in four weeks of work (including two full weeks of daily storms) we have been able to get the roof on this cabin.

Decks, doors, and windows will be in within a couple weeks and we can begin working on the inside.

As you can see in the sky the clouds have moved in and later today the snow started. Here comes winter again.

Cabin 7 and Sunshine

Snow keeps coming and Cabin 7 is progressing

The snow refuses to stop. We have had a couple snow storms per week for the last four weeks. There is plenty of great snow so book your trip now! Plenty of Snow

These photos were taken this afternoon on December 26, 2008. We have a great base of about 18 inches of snow on the ground and it is now snowing heavily at 3:25 PM.

Cabin 7 has all the logs completed for the main floor and next week we will start on the second floor. We expect to have the roof on by the third week in January.

We still have some snowmobiles available for the coming weekend and the week of the new year so make a reservation and come enjoy.

These photos are of Cabin 7. The logs are going up quickly. The basement is completely framed and we are about ready to put in the loft floor.

As you can see, many photos were taken December 16 and the snow was coming down.

More Snow!

There is now over a foot of snow at the lodge, with more in the forecast. We had about 6 inches before it started snowing today, and have received at least 6-8 more. We'll let you know how the storms affect us the next couple of days. We should have some good snow by the time things pick up for all of our visitors over Christmas.

We finally have enough snow to send out our snowmobiles. This last storm dropped about 8 inches at the lodge. Our first snowmobiles will go out this weekend and just hope for a few more storms before Christmas!

Christmas Tree Permits & New Snow

Christmas tree permits go on sale November 17th! You must purchase permits at the Lodge or Evanston Ranger Station. Permits cost $10 and are limited to one per household. This is a great tradition to start with your family. We still have cabins available, so come plan a trip! Rent a cabin and go cut down your own Christmas tree!

We currently have about 3 inches of snow on the ground at the lodge, with more on top. Remember you can check current weather conditions by clicking on the links on our blog or in the Weather & News section on our website. We are also willing to put up a weather camera at the lodge if anyone wants to submit donations!

I know, I know, I know, the Blog postings have been too few and too far in between.

I have been busy and I have had camera problems.

I commit to keep new postings throughout the winter to keep everyone updated on snow storms, snow totals, and general weather updates.

Until Thanksgiving I will make one or two posts per week.

Today I arrived at The Cabins to find about four inches of snow. It probably won't stay until the next storm but the surrounding mountains have a good start.

As you can see from the photos, Cabin 6 is nearing completion. All exterior work is completed. We have the power connected and the propane connected to the furnace. All sheetrock is completed and all tongue and groove pine on the interior is up and looks very nice. Additional finish work including trim around the windows and doors is being done. Painting is being done and all interior stain is about completed.

Tile work in the entry way and bathrooms will start Friday and be completed this weekend. Cabinets are about 10 days out and carpet is two weeks out.

If everything continues on schedule we could have it completed and usable for Thanksgiving. We are now selling Shared Ownership in this cabin. If you want a beautiful cabin at a great value now is the time to act.

Cabin 7 has all the concrete work done. The footings and foundations are poured. The patio and the basement floor are also completed. We should start log work by the end of the month. This cabin will be sold in quartershares. We have three left.

Cabins 7 and 8 are started

We are continuing to move ahead to try to get as much done before winter.

This past week we poured the footings and foundations for both Cabins 7 and 8.

Both cabins will be sold as quarter shares.

The framing, rough electrical, rough plumbing, HVAC, fire suppression system, and exterior trim are all completed on Cabin 6. We have also started putting on the metal roof.

The swimming pool has been winterized. The two hot tubs are completed. We added extra air compressors to maximize the jet pressure.

Winter might be on the way but it is a great time to get away to the mountains.

Progress Continues - Fall is Here!

Cabin 6 has the roof on and the interior walls will be framed today. The plumber and HVAC contractors are starting tomorrow. Later this week the fire suppression company and the electrical contractor will begin their rough installation.

The metal roof is here and will be installed this week.

Next week windows, doors, and railing will all be delivered and installed.

This week we are also installing the septic tanks and lines and connecting the water lines.

Power will be installed in two weeks.

We are on schedule for an opening for Thanksgiving weekend.

Cabin 7 has begun. The photo of the new footings is for Cabin 7. We are going to build this one on the fast track. We hope to have it completed for use this winter (hopefully, February 1).

We are selling Quarter Ownerships in this cabin. This will be a great opportunity if you are interested in having a cabin that you can use but also place in the rental program. We already have one buyer for a quarter ownership in this cabin. The price for a quarter share is $225,000. As an incentive, we will pay 100% of the costs of operation for the entire first year. Therefore, owners will receive 100% of the rental revenue for the first year. We will still prepare the monthly accounting statements showing the costs. This will allow the owners to budget the nights they want to use and the nights they want to rent for year two. They will have a good idea of what the revenues and costs are so they can budget accordingly.

Pool Party Success

Everyone had a great time at the pool party! There was a good turn out from our owners. If you weren't able to make it, we look forward to having you stay at the cabins soon! We had such a fun time, we're looking to make this an annual event! We finished up the BBQ just in time to escape a sudden downpour. Luckily, the rain only lasted a short time before the sun came out again and everyone was able to enjoy the new pool and hot tubs. We are so excited to have our renters and owners having fun and relaxing in the pool and hot tubs! The pool was at a wonderful 85 degrees and hot tubs were at 105. We have taken our small cabins out of the rentals to allow guests to enjoy the pool and hot tubs at any time, day or night, without disturbing other guests. The small cabins now house our helmets, suits, and boots for equipment rentals, and also a lounge with couches and a big screen TV for those who may be up just for the day. The pool will be closing as soon as the weather turns cold, but the hot tubs will be open year round. We hope you enjoy the pictures and come to visit us soon!

Quarter Ownership Incentive!

We purchased the building permits for Cabins 7 and 8. Both of these will be five bedroom cabins and will be sold as Quarter Ownership. The price for a Quarter Ownership is $225,000.

We have one buyer for a Quarter Ownership in Cabin 7 and need three more. As an incentive for buyers we are offering to pay 100% of the costs for the first year. This means that all rental revenue received will be passed directly onto the Owners.

This is a great value and will increase the return and allow the owners to get a feel for what to expect in year two.

Yesterday, we took reservations for three nights in a five bedroom cabin for this winter. This was not for a holiday it was simply a Thursday, Friday, Saturday. The first night is a weeknight and it rented for $699, the next two nights are Friday and Saturday and they rented for $799 per night. The total rental revenue for this three day rental is $2,297. This is just for three nights. Each Quarter Owner is entitled to use the cabin for 91 nights per year. As you can see, it doesn't take much to make this a great opportunity.

I have rental histories for our other cabins and cost budgets for the five bedroom cabins.

The completion of the swimming pool, hot tubs, and landscaping, should help increase rentals.

We are hurrying to beat winter!

Yes, it did snow over Labor Day weekend. We got about two inches of snow but it melted within a day.

The weather this week has been great. The nights are cool and the days are very comfortable.

As you can see, the pool and hot tubs are full of water. We are expecting to turn on the heaters tomorrow and have the final inspections next week.

We have moved the office to the pool house and we will be removing the temporary work trailers. Landscaping of the front will continue once the trailers are moved.

Cabin 6 is progressing. We should have the roof on next week and have it closed in the following week.

As you can see in the cabin photo, our engineers have marked the corners for Cabins 7 and 8. We hope to begin digging these next week and pouring the footings and foundations within two weeks. We are selling quarter ownerships in these cabins. Now is the time to buy!

Water is in (as you can see we had to use a garden hose) and the pool and spas are now full.

Also, if you look closely, you can see the black cast iron fence is up.

The coping stones are going around the pool and spas tomorrow.

These should be ready for use within about 10 days. We will keep the pool open for a few weeks or until we get the first really cold weather.

The spas will be open year round.

You can also see that the ridge beam is up on Cabin 6. The roof will also be on in about 10 days and then we will add windows and doors and begin doing the interior work.

Next week is a very busy week. We will work to complete the pool and spas.

Progress Continuing before Labor Day Weekend

We are making progress!

The schedule for this week is:

Today (Monday) - Continue to put up logs on the cabin. Paint pool house, caulk pool house, finished plumbing (added toilets and sinks) in pool house bathrooms.

Tuesday - Fencing around pool, plastering pool and hot tubs, marble in pool house showers.

Wednesday - Start filling pool with water.

Thursday - Start roofing system on Cabin 6. Continue to fill pool with water (it will take three days).

Friday - Complete landscaping around pool and complete filling pool and hot tubs. If things go well, we may be able to use the pool and hot tubs this weekend.

Come up for a drive this weekend. It is only in the 70's today and I understand it is near 100 degrees in SLC.

More Progress

Check back tomorrow. I am having trouble uploading the photos. We are making progress. We are putting down the second floor on Cabin #6. It is looking great. We are pouring the remaining decking around the pool and hot tubs tomorrow.The tile has been placed around the pool and hot tubs. The should be plastered next week.The pool fencing is going in Wednesday.The pool house has windows and doors.The inside of the pool house has been sheetrocked and is ready for paint on Wednesday.Thursday power will be provided then the pool house and lights and outlets should be working.Friday, plumbing will be run to the pool house for the bathrooms and laundry room.So it is going to be a busy week.I will hopefully post photos tomorrow.We are pulling the building permit for Cabins 7 and 8 on Thursday. Since Roger is out of town and hopefully having a great time, and we are at the cabins, we will update the blog. The weather has been nice other than it's getting a little cool at night. The workers are sheet-rocking the pool house. The hot tubs are cemented in and they have started to tile the pool and hot tub. Cabin 6 has most of the main floor walls up. Logs are Going UP - Spas are being completed

Logs have started to go up on the new cabin. These 10 inch logs really look nice.

The spas are coming together and will be gunnited on Thursday.

The temps are starting to cool off. The high today is only in the 70s. Last night the temperature got down into the 40s.

Quarter Ownerships Soon to be Available

We are working with the county and state to be able to offer quarter ownerships in the new five bedroom cabins. We will only have 12 of these ownerships available in this Phase of the project.

Quarter ownerships allow the owner access to the cabin every fourth week. The key is that the owner can choose which dates they want to use the cabin (either all five bedrooms or just use two or three bedrooms and lock off the other portion) and then place the remaining days in the rental program. This program has worked very well for those who bought into it in Phase One.

The cabin can then be treated as a rental property. We will fully manage the property including marketing, reservations, checking in guests, cleaning, and maintenance. The Owners simply use the time they want and then collect a rental check for the time it is rented.

Another great feature with the five bedroom cabins is that the Owners can use all five bedrooms or use two or three bedrooms at a time and lock off the other section so it can be rented. That way an Owner can make money while they are still using the cabin.

This concept and these cabins have a lot of options.

Remember you can access the plans to the cabins by selecting the window on the home page of our website.

We are currently entering into non-binding Priority Reservation Agreements for these quarter ownerships. The price is $200,000 and the annual maintenace fee is projected at $12,750. The annual maintenace fee can be paid from rental revenue and then the remainder can go to the Owners as profit.

Pool and Pool House are Getting Closer

The outdoor swimming pool, two large hot tubs, and the pool house are progressing quickly. The pool has been poured and is waiting to be plastered. The holes have been dug for the two large hot tubs, and the plumbing is being placed.

The pool house has its roof on and will have windows and doors soon.

We also poured the basement floor for Cabin #6. Logs will start going up next week.

The landscaping is completed for this year. We think it looks great.

Quarter Ownerships Now Available

For those of you who follow this Blog, you surely know by now that we are constructing the first of four new cabins. Each cabin is 3,600 square feet, five bedrooms, four bathrooms, with an incredible master suite.

The first of these cabins will be completed by Christmas and we are working to have the second completed for next summer.

The first cabin is being sold in 1/13 and 1/26th increments. This allows owners to use the cabins up to four weeks each year. We have already entered into Agreements to sell four of the 1/13th ownerships.

The second, third, and fourth cabins are being sold as either whole ownership or quarter ownership interests. The unique quality of whole or quarter interests is that as an owner you can place the cabin in our rental program when you are not using it. This makes it a wonderful rental property. How many properties can you use and rent?

We have six units that were sold in Phase 1 as whole ownerships. We SOLD OUT Phase 1whole ownerships. We are now accepting Priority Reservation Agreements for the whole and quartership interests in the new cabins. The cost of quarter ownership is $200,000. This will give you 13 weeks each year to use or place in our rental program. The property is fully managed. We take care of marketing, cleaning, checking in and out guests and every other detail. Your job is to use and enjoy the cabin whenever you want and to cash the monthly rental checks for time not used. This truly is a great program. We have limited space available so now is the time to buy.

Swimming Pool is Going In!

This morning they started cementing (gunniting) the pool. They are about finished with this process and then we will start the two hot-tubs.

The logs are taking shape on the pool house.

The foundation is in on Cabin 6.

The log setters have started work on the Pool House. They have indicated that they will have the walls up and the roof on by the end of July.

Tomorrow they are pouring (gunniting?)the swimming pool. I will do my best to post photos.

The foundation for Cabin #6 was poured today. Logs should be going up by the end of the month.

Landscaping has been completed for the year. The trees and rock landscaping look great. We have also poured cement walkways to each cabin which will be a nice addition for winter.

I promise photos of the pool, foundation for Cabin #6, and landscaping within the next few days.

The weather has been great. The ATV riding is exceptional. Come on up and enjoy a few days.

Improvements are Made - July 4

Well the construction week has come to an end. We accomplished a lot of our goals this week but we have a lot more to do next week.

Landscaping has started and is looking very nice. I think the trees and rock landscaping loog great. One small problem is that when planting the second tree we knocked over the water valve and broke the water line. As we worked to repair the first break we caused a second leak and the next thing we knew we had been trying to repair the water line all day. Night time came and we still had no water. Finally, at about 10:00 PM Thursday night, after many failed attempts we used enough glue, parts, clamps, and chewing gum to get it to hold until a plumber can get here on Monday.

The footings for Cabin 6 were poured and are ready for foundation. The foundation for the pool house is complete and ready for the cement floor.

The swimming pool contractor continues to make progress with the rough plumbing.

The parking lot is open once again and is fairly graded.

The road to the fishing pond is outstanding. It is the nicest it has ever been. You can easily take a car to the ponds.

We start again on Monday. First priority is to repair the plumbing. We will then begin to work on the pool house.

Construction Continues July 2

Today is Wednesday, July 2. The week hasn't gone exactly as scheduled but we are making progress.

Landscaping is moving along great. We are creating nice rock areas and the trees and plants were delivered today. I will post photos tomorrow.

The cabin footings are started and will be poured tomorrow.

The pool house is ready for the foundation pouring tomorrow.

The swimming pool plumbing was started today and should be in place by the weekend.

As you can see in the photos, the logs have been delivered.

Construction has started

Construction has started! Today we poured the footings for the pool house. This will be a great addition to the property. Lots of activity will be taking place during the next week. Here is the optimistic construction schedule:

Friday, June 27 - Dig basement for Cabin 6, start landscaping around cabins 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, begin grading parking lot

Saturday, June 28 - Frame footings for Cabin 6, continue grading parking lot

Monday, June 29 - Continue grading parking lot and continue landscaping

Tuesday, July 1 - Pour foundation for pool house and footings for Cabin 6

Wednesday, July 2 - Logs are delivered

Thursday, July 3 - Pour foundation for Cabin 6 and floor for pool house, finish landscaping and grading

Friday July 4 through Sunday July 6 - Shut down construction for holiday

That is our optimistic schedule for the next 7 days. However, since we were supposed to pour footings for Cabin 6 today and we haven't even finished digging the basement, and we were supposed to pour the pool house footings at 10:00 AM this morning and the cement truck showed up at 3:00 PM, I am not holding my breath on any of the above schedule.

We will continue to do our best and work with what we are given.

The snow has continued to melt away and the temperatures are rising.

The Hill is Leaving

For many the Hill has become a landmark. For some it has been an inconvenience (trucks pulling trailers and wanting to park by the cabins). For everyone it will now be a memory.

As shown in the photos we removed the Hill yesterday. This will open up significant parking and allow us to do more landscaping around the cabins.

What a beautiful weekend at the Bear River Lodge and what a beautiful sight when you pull in! You now have a clear view of our five log cabins. The old shop, store, and restaurant buildings are completely gone and have been replaced with a new convenience store and new office trailers...now we're just waiting for all of the snow and mud to be completely gone! With a few more weeks of nice weather, we should be able to get some nice landscaping in and some new parking areas. We will also be able to begin our much-anticipated construction.

Goin' Fishin'

Yesterday, we had 1,200 new brown and rainbow trout put into our two ponds. The ponds are still about 70% frozen over, with a thin layer of ice, but with the warm weather we've been having, they should thaw out soon. Join us for some great fishing this summer!

New Water System Now Running

We have replaced the main water line and now have excellent water pressure to each cabin. With this step complete, there should be very little interruption in cabin usage throughout the remainder of the construction.

Three to four inches of snow fell Sunday night and it snowed most of the day yesterday, but did not accumulate. With the warm weather scheduled for later in the week, it should be an excellent weekend to come and enjoy the mountains.

This morning we are stocking the ponds with about 1,200 brown and rainbow trout. Check out the next post for pictures.

The old store and garage are just about gone. All debris should be gone by the end of the week.

New construction will most likely not be starting for about four weeks. We can not start until the ground is dry and our experts tell us that will be in about four weeks if it will stay warm and dry for a little while.

Setup of Temporary Space Underway

Demolition is well under way. We are about 50% through the process of removing the old buildings and setting up our temporary work space.

The new convenience store will be mostly ready for operation this weekend. A few items that require extra plumbing may need another week or two but the store should be completely ready by Memorial Day weekend.

We have two temporary office trailers set up. One will be used for ATV and snowmobile rentals. It has an area for helmets, suits, and boots. It has a check-in area for contracts and paperwork and a lounge area for those who may need a break and want to wait for others to finish up their adventure.

The second trailer is for cabin and housekeeping usage. All cabin guests will check-in at this office. There is also office space for sales presentations and for those interested in looking at the construction plans.

Demolition Has Begun

Thank you to all who came to the Home Owners’ meeting on Wednesday. I appreciate your comments and input and look forward to seeing you over the coming year.

This will be the first post of many as we begin our construction season. Our goal this year is to construct the swimming pool, pool house, and two large outdoor hot-tubs. Additionally, we are building the first five-bedroom cabin (which will be known as Cabin #6).

The demolition is moving along. We started Wednesday and made good progress by the time I left last night.

The new store is just about set up in the prior cabin known as the sales office. This store will be great. It is a great spot for the store and will be able to offer a wide variety of products. Probably the highlight of the store will be make-it-yourself soft ice cream cones.

This morning we are starting to remove the older buildings. Our goal is to have them completely removed by Friday.
